In this IAM Research Forum session, Robb Smith, Nick Hedlund, Brendan Graham Dempsey and Clément Vidal argue that we are living through the emergence of a new, integrative worldview.
Religion once told us the world follows God’s law. Classical science told us it follows physical law, and left it, in Steven Weinberg’s words, more pointless the more comprehensible it became. What Clément Vidal calls the third story, and IAM calls the New Story of Wholeness, is now taking shape: a picture in which evolution has a direction and meaning has a place again. The work ahead is to give that story a rigorous foundation, by drawing the leading integrative metatheories into a single synthesis.
