David Storey

David E. Storey is Associate Professor of the Practice in the Philosophy Department at Boston College, where he has taught since 2013. In addition to teaching the university’s Great Books course, Perspectives on Western Culture, he has developed and taught a wide range of courses, including: Environmental Ethics; How to Save the World: Ethics of Climate Change; Philosophy as a Way of Life: East and West; Playing God: Technology and the Human Condition; and Self-Knowledge and Discernment: the Philosophy of Pilgrimage, which culminates in walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain. He is the author of the book, Naturalizing Heidegger (2015), and has published scholarly articles on Nietzsche, Heidegger, Buddhism, comparative thought, and environmental ethics. Since 2020, he has hosted the podcast Wisdom at Work: Philosophy Beyond the Ivory Tower, which interviews people who do public-facing philosophical work inside and outside the academy.
